Research Scientist Position: Biomedical Engineering and Nanotechnology

Our research team seeks a highly motivated graduate in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or biophysics to contribute to the development of a novel nanophotonic therapy targeting drug-resistant hypertension.

This interdisciplinary project involves creating a numerical modelling framework to simulate light and heat interactions with target body tissue. You will incorporate neural signalling dynamics to explore how light-based stimulation affects chemoreceptor activity. Your work will bridge computational and experimental research, including validation using in vivo models, optimising light delivery systems, and aligning in vitro and in vivo findings.

This innovative project offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team dedicated to solving real-world health problems. You will gain experience with state-of-the-art optical and thermal modelling, simulation tools like COMSOL, and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++.
