Community Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities or special needs. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in enabling our clients to participate fully in their communities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the comfort and safety of our clients during transportation, adapting to their changing needs and preferences.
- Engage in meaningful interactions with our clients, who communicate through written notes, to foster social connection and support.
- Collaborate with our clients' support teams to ensure continuity of care and adherence to individualized plans and goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, respecting our clients' privacy and dignity in every interaction.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle that can accommodate a wheelchair, preferably with ample storage space.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor to support our clients' unique needs and challenges with sensitivity and understanding.
- Be able to adapt to dynamic situations, problem-solve effectively, and remain calm under pressure while prioritizing our clients' safety and well-being.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage in conversation and maintain rapport with our clients, who communicate through written notes.
