Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Specialist Addiction Counsellor to join our team in the Alcohol and Drug Contact Centre. The successful candidate will work within a strengths-based and harm-minimisation framework to deliver high-quality, person-centred drug and alcohol counselling.

The role involves working across multiple service lines, including:

  • Alcohol and Drug Information Service (including WebChat)
  • Opioid Treatment Line
  • Stimulant Treatment Line
  • ACT Quitline
  • 1300DRIVER
  • Cannabis Caution
  • Western Australia Alcohol and Drug Support Services (overnight only)
  • Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service
  • SafeScript NSW Clinical Advice Line

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in nursing, counselling, social work, psychology or a related field and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association. They will also have demonstrated relevant clinical experience in alcohol and drug assessment, brief intervention, and counselling of clients with substance use problems and co-existing mental health issues.
