About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Groundskeeper to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and make a positive impact.

\

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the buildings, equipment, machinery, grounds, gardens, and surrounds of Fairhaven. This includes:

\
  • Mowing lawns, removing leaves and branches, and cleaning pathways regularly to ensure a neat presentation of Fairhaven.
  • Transporting excess rubbish and vegetation safely and disposing of it as required.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of gardening equipment and assisting with general property maintenance and cleaning as needed.
  • Ensuring gardening equipment is operational and in safe working order, using appropriate fuels and lubricants on machinery.
  • Carrying out property maintenance activities in a timely manner to keep the property clean and tidy.
  • Keeping records of grounds and maintenance activities, reporting any hazards, issues, or breakdowns to the Manager promptly.
  • Providing regular reports and feedback to the Manager on grounds and maintenance operations, highlighting innovative solutions and opportunities for efficiency gains.
  • Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety obligations are followed and in line with relevant legislation.

Requirements

\

To be successful in this role, you will need:

\
  • Qualifications in Horticulture or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge across all key areas of competence in landscape gardening and general maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge in the use of gardening equipment.
  • Knowledge of gardening maintenance.
  • Time management skills to plan ahead for equipment requirements and work arrangements.
  • A driver's license.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • A national police record check.
