High Voltage Transmission Line Designer

We are seeking a highly experienced Transmission Lines Design Specialist to join our team.
This role will involve leading a team of transmission line designers, as well as supporting multi-disciplinary design and project management teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various aspects of overhead transmission line design including preliminary route alignment, PLS CADD modelling, tower micro spotting, stringing chart preparation and generation of bill of materials.
Familiarity with Australian utility standards and experience on related projects will be well regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of transmission line designers.
- Preliminary route alignment, PLS CADD modelling, tower micro spotting, stringing chart preparation and generation of bill of materials.
- Analysis of PLS TOWER models.
- Perform micro-spotting of towers and determine appropriate foundation and tower types.
- Generating bill of materials for towers, conductors, insulators and fittings.
- Preparation of stringing charts/sag tension calculations.
- Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes.
Requirements:
- Masters/Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- CPEng and/or RPEQ.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of transmission lines up to 500 kV.
- Proficiency in use of overhead line design tools and software like PLS CADD & PLS TOWER.
