The role of a Clinical Nurse Consultant is to provide expert nursing consultancy and direct/indirect care within various clinical settings. The consultant will lead clinical excellence, support complex decision-making, and ensure safe, compassionate care aligned with ethical, legal, and professional standards.

  • This includes providing evidence-based, person-centred, service delivery through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • The consultant will drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical guidelines, education programs, and system-wide quality initiatives.
  • They will act as a key clinical leader contributing to innovation, research, workforce capability, and service transformation.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and compassionate nursing professional with a deep understanding of complex clinical, ethical, and legislative issues involved in Voluntary Assisted Dying.

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise and leadership in nursing practice.
  • A proven ability to influence clinical service development, lead change, and promote evidence-based, patient-centred care.
  • Strong interpersonal, education and mentoring skills with the ability to build capability and confidence within healthcare teams.
