Rehabilitation Services Assistant

Overview

Assist individuals with daily living skills, facilitate social and recreational activities, and promote healthier lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Administer and manage medications as prescribed.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, addressing any safety concerns promptly.
  • Offer emotional support and foster positive relationships with residents.
  • Assist with life skills training and promote community integration for residents.
  • Utilize advanced manual handling techniques to facilitate smooth and safe transitions for clients.
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies to effectively manage complex behaviors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the disability sector.
  • Proficiency in providing personal care assistance and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Ability to teach and develop practical life skills that empower clients in their daily lives.
  • Proven expertise in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
