We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Executive Assistant to support our Director of Agriculture and Food Research Unit.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to be embedded in a team at the heart of national science strategy, with opportunities to contribute to projects, staff engagement, and internal communications.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong track record of building effective internal and external relationships, and demonstrated experience supporting a senior executive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Manage the Director's schedule, meetings, travel arrangements and correspondence.
- Monitor and prioritise incoming communications, using judgement and initiative to manage and action as needed.
- Follow up on issues and tasks to ensure timely completion across the leadership team.
- Contribute to internal communications from the Director's office to staff.
- Lead or contribute to projects or initiatives, e.g. stakeholder coordination, internal engagement, as directed by the Director.
- Assist with meetings and events including scheduling, agenda preparation, minute taking and presentation support.
- Maintain electronic document and records management systems.
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant certificate/diploma and/or equivalent high-level administrative experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with systems such as HP Records Manager, SAP, and Compass.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant certificate/diploma and/or equivalent high-level administrative experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong track record of building effective internal and external relationships.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a senior executive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, including ability to prioritise, take initiative, and resolve or escalate matters as needed.
