About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Family Violence Advisor to join our team at Western Health. As a key member of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Division, you will play a critical role in leading and promoting service-wide responses to family violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the division meets its legislative requirements in the practice area of family violence.
  • Build the capacity of Western Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Division staff to identify and respond to consumers experiencing family violence.
  • Collaborate with the Western Health Family Violence team to provide expert advice and support.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to family violence.
  • Provide training and education to staff on family violence and its impact on consumers.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience working with family violence and/or within specialist family violence services.
  • Ability to articulate and apply a practice framework focused on engagement and assessment, including risk assessment frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and the Royal Commission into Mental Health Services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, risk management, and occupational health and safety.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
