At our esteemed Italian restaurant, we seek an exceptional Wine Connoisseur to oversee our wine team's operations. As a seasoned professional with a passion for fine wine and customer service, you will be responsible for crafting and updating our extensive wine list in collaboration with our chefs and General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory efficiently

• Craft and update our wine list in collaboration with our chefs and General Manager

• Supervise wine service and foster relationships with winemakers and suppliers for optimal selections

• Train Sommeliers and Wine Waiters to maintain their knowledge

• Curate special wine dinners and events to impress our guests

• Guide customers on wine pairings suitable for every occasion and budget

• Ensure wines are served perfectly, at the right temperature and with the right glassware

• Assist with guest orders and ensure unforgettable experiences

• Demonstrate exemplary hospitality and customer service standards

Requirements:

Australian working rights and a current QLD RSA certificate are mandatory. A profound understanding of wine and food pairing – particularly Italian, French, and Australian wines – is essential. A solid comprehension of COGS and formal hospitality qualifications (minimum WSET Level 3) are also required. At least 3 years of experience in a similar role and a positive attitude, team spirit, and a love for customer service are highly valued.
