About the Role

The Head, Quality Assurance and Operations is a critical position within Macquarie University's Strategy and Operations Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance, compliance, and portfolio operational activities to drive the University's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality assurance systems and operational processes aligned with the University's Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for the provision of higher education, including those set out in the Higher Education Standards Framework.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of operational processes, policies, and systems to ensure the operational performance of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic (DVC-A) is compliant, regularly assessed, and efficient.
  • Provide expert knowledge and advice in quality assurance to build relationships with executives, senior management, governance bodies, and external regulators.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop high-quality reports and conduct thorough reviews to ensure strong levels of compliance with regulatory standards and effective quality assurance throughout the University.
Requirements
  • Degree and/or extensive equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of regulatory standards for the provision of higher education and the changing external environment.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing quality assurance systems and operational processes within a complex higher education organizational environment.
  • Experience leading and managing activities associated with registration of a higher education provider by a regulatory body.
  • Experience in managing complex budgets and high-impact projects in an academic or administrative context.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement and manage change effectively.
  • Ability to successfully engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executives, professional and academic leaders, and representatives of external regulatory bodies.
