Painting Trades Person

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Painting Trades Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in surface preparation and painting, working closely with clients to achieve their desired outcomes.

The role involves reading blueprints and instructions, examining surfaces, and determining the type and amount of work necessary. You will also be responsible for making work preparations, such as scaffolding and covering fixtures, and understanding and completing works to specifications.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work well independently and in a team environment, and be self-motivated, organised, punctual, and reliable. A Trade Certificate in Surface Preparation or equivalent is required, along with High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift, and Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints and instructions, examine surfaces, and determine the type and amount of work necessary
  • Make work preparations, such as scaffolding and covering fixtures
  • Understand and complete works to specifications
  • Mix correct ratio two-part paint coatings etc.
  • Select paints, varnishes and stains to various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers
  • Understand the use of Wet Film Thickness Gauges and be able to achieve specified dry film thickness
  • Able to carry out minor repairs as and when deemed necessary
  • Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Erecting scaffolding and ladders
  • Cleaning equipment and work areas
  • Support other team members to ensure completion of projects are on-time and in accordance to specification

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate in Surface Preparation or equivalent
  • High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift
  • Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs)
  • HR licence, high risk licence with EWP and Forklift
  • Drivers Licence (MR or HR class)
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
  • Must have great work ethics
