As a Surface Preparation Specialist, you will play a critical role in our team's success. We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to operate and maintain abrasive blasting equipment, prepare surfaces for treatment, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Surface Preparation Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining various types of abrasive blasting equipment, including sandblasters, shot blasters, and other relevant tools and machinery.
  • Preparing surfaces for treatment by removing rust, scale, paint, and other contaminants using different abrasive techniques.
  • Selecting and utilizing appropriate abrasive materials, such as sand, garnet, steel shot, or other media, depending on the surface and desired finish.
  • Inspecting treated surfaces to ensure proper cleaning, roughness, and profile in accordance with project specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Collaborating with team members and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects within quality standards.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting issues, and recommending repairs or replacements as needed.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Surface Preparation Specialist or related field.
  • A strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and equipment operation.
  • The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
