Commercial Operations Manager

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for maintaining reconciliations for all balance sheet items on a monthly basis, processing monthly journals including payroll journals, and forecasting P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis.
They will also review all expense items for correct coding and strategic analysis on a monthly basis, identify and correct any general ledger check sums errors, and maintain Asset and FBT Registers.
Debtor ControlThe Commercial Manager will review current and outstanding retail debtors, be responsible for contracts/builders debtors, assess and approve new credit applications including credit limits, and escalate bad debts to Debt Collection Agency.
They will also liaise with Builders Sales representative and oversee and approve all 30-day creditors reconciliations.
Finance ApplicationsThe Commercial Manager will assess and approve applications for completeness, liaise with finance company representatives on rates and application criteria, and oversee and approve all 7-day creditors.
They will also provide support to the Franchise Manager, be responsible for Debtor Accounts, maintain computer databases, and process all approved credits.
Stock ControlThe Commercial Manager will oversee and report on monthly stock takes of all products within warehouse and individual retail outlets, maintain internal controls for stock management, and liaise with Operations Manager on stock obsolescence.
They will also oversee retail store stock stake, oversee all new product container ordering and delivery, and invoice and debtor control.
Payroll & Human ResourcesThe Commercial Manager will oversee weekly payroll including commissions, overtime, and leave entitlements, be the first point of contact for local payroll issues including workers compensation, review new staff contracts/documentation including new CV checks, and maintain staff employment records.
They will also sign off all employee termination agreements/payments and prepare monthly payroll documentation for CFO.
Property ManagementThe Commercial Manager will liaise with General Manager and CFO with Property Agents in regards to new and existing leasing arrangements, maintain leasing payments, and be responsible for maintenance of leasing properties.
They will also assist in co-ordination of new premise fit-outs and close down end of lease arrangements.
Information Technology (IT)The Commercial Manager will liaise with National IT Department on all computer-related issues/responsibilities, be the first point of contact for all local IT matters, and maintain computers and cabling for head office and all retail stores.
They will also maintain office equipment/supplies, approve all printing of invoice books, plan books, business cards, and general items, and liaise with General Manager in regards to sign writing and signage.
The Commercial Manager will also conduct quarterly Safety Committee meetings with other members, conduct store OH&S audits, be responsible for fire equipment audits and maintenance, and be responsible for security company contracts.
They will also liaise with security companies in regards to alarms and break-ins and be the point of contact for after-hours security protocol breaches.
The Commercial Manager will also maintain local company car fleet, including purchase, registration, servicing, upkeep, and disposal.
