Senior Pastoral Care Professional

This is a senior leadership position based across Queensland hospitals and aged care homes on a hybrid working arrangement.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and guidance to a dedicated team of Pastoral & Spiritual Practitioners, ensuring the provision of high-quality pastoral and spiritual care services aligns with our organization's mission and values.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Pastoral & Spiritual Practitioners and guide the overall direction and delivery of services across Queensland hospitals and aged care homes.
  • Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of pastoral and spiritual care programs in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders to ensure access to sacraments for patients, staff, and families.
  • Ensure all actions reflect the core values of our organization's Catholic identity while driving impactful change.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in pastoral and spiritual care, preferably within a health or aged care setting.
  • A minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), with one at an Advanced level.
  • A tertiary qualification in medicine, nursing, ministry, pastoral care, theology, or social science is desirable.
  • Proven ability to foster an inclusive approach to pastoral care that respects all faiths and cultures.
