Overview

Bracken Ridge Baptist Church is a vibrant church community who seeks to experience and share the life, freedom, and hope found in Jesus. We are prayerfully seeking two (2) gifted and passionate people to join our ministry team and help lead, shepherd and equip our congregation. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for overseeing one or more of the following key portfolio areas:

  • Worship and Services
  • Pastoral Care
  • Welcoming and Integration
  • Discipleship and Small Groups
  • Adult Ministries

The specific roles will be shaped around the gifting, experience, and calling of the successful applicant(s), in consultation with the Senior Pastor and Church Council. The combination of responsibilities will determine the role (Full Time or Part Time) that may be offered.

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Provide vision, leadership, encouragement, pastoral care and support in assigned ministry areas.
  • Recruit, equip, and mentor volunteers and ministry leaders to serve effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the ministry team, elders, and wider congregation to advance the mission and vision of the church.
  • Foster a culture of hospitality, discipleship, and spiritual growth across the church.
Key Selection Criteria
  • A clear and growing Christian faith, with evidence of spiritual maturity and a commitment to prayer, Scripture, evangelism and discipleship.
  • Alignment with the theological convictions, vision, and values of our church.
  • Demonstrated experience in pastoral leadership, ministry coordination, or church-based leadership and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong relational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to engage across generations and cultures.
  • Proven ability to raise up, equip and empower teams of volunteers for ministry.
  • Theologically trained from a recognised evangelical college or willing to be trained.
  • Experience in one or more of the portfolio areas listed above.
  • Ability to clearly Preach and teach God's Word in a church setting.
  • Creativity and flexibility in developing ministry approaches.
  • Is a registered Pastor with Queensland Baptists or willing to work towards registration.
The applicant will be:
  • Christ-centred – demonstrating integrity, humility, and dependence on God.
  • Team-oriented – collaborative and supportive, working well within a ministry team and church leadership structure.
  • People-focused – approachable, compassionate, and skilled at building relationships.
  • Vision-aligned – committed to seeing the mission of Bracken Ridge be achieved.
  • Organised and proactive – able to plan strategically, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments.
