Leadership Opportunity in Pastoral Care

The QLD State Manager role is a pivotal position within the Pastoral & Spiritual Care Services, responsible for providing ethical leadership and shaping the future of care.

This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Pastoral & Spiritual Practitioners, guiding the overall direction and delivery of our services across Queensland hospitals and aged care homes.

Reporting to the National Director - Pastoral & Spiritual Care, you will ensure that every action reflects the core values of the organisation. Your work will collaborate with other State Managers to create a consistent, values-based approach that makes a tangible difference in the lives of patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Pastoral & Spiritual Practitioners and guide the overall direction and delivery of services.
  • Ensure all actions reflect the core values of the organisation.
  • Collaborate with other State Managers to create a consistent, values-based approach to care.
  • Uphold the organisational identity while driving impactful change.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders to ensure access to support services for patients, staff, and families.
  • Ensure pastoral and spiritual care is grounded in the organisational mission and values.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in pastoral and spiritual care, preferably within a health or aged care setting.
  • A minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), with one at an Advanced level.
  • A tertiary qualification in medicine, nursing, ministry, pastoral care, theology, or social science is desirable.
  • Proven ability to foster an inclusive approach to pastoral care that respects all faiths and cultures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
