Southern Cross Care Queensland currently have an opportunity for you to join our teams working across our two Residential Aged Care Homes in Allora, in the role of a Spiritual/Pastoral Associate. This is a part-time position, working 16 hours a week.

As a Pastoral associate you will provide meaningful pastoral care services as part of the "Person centred approach" to care provided by SCCQ. This is a vital position for meeting the ability to provide clients with a choice and will be based on an initial personalised assessment needs of the residents as well as the family and friends who support them. In this role you will need to provide spiritual support with compassion and empathy irrespective of the resident's religious beliefs or world view, encouraging them to express their concerns and feelings without judgement.

**What you will bring to the role?**
- Certificate or Diploma from an accredited Pastoral Care Academy
- Previous experience working in a similar spiritual and pastoral care role
- Friendly approachable manner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated collaborative problem-solving approach
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to maintain documentation accurately and appropriately
- Maintain up to date vaccination status against COVID 19 and influenza
- Right to work in Australia

Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.
