About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Relations Specialist to join our team at the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation. As an Industrial Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting a harmonious work environment and ensuring compliance with labor laws and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice to staff and stakeholders on employment-related matters, including interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement and relevant legislation.
  • Monitor organisational change processes and provide guidance to managers and employees to mitigate the risk of disputation and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
  • Work closely with employee representatives to develop and implement people practices that foster positive working relationships between the Organisation and its people.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external bodies, such as the Australian Public Service Commission and partner agencies, on employment-related matters.
  • Assist in investigating complaints lodged by employees and providing recommendations for resolution.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment frameworks, including the Enterprise Agreement and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent time and resource management skills, with the ability to prioritize requests and maintain high standards and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and leadership ability, with strong interpersonal and mediation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to staff and stakeholders.
  • Ability to investigate employee matters in relation to employee complaints or other disputations.
  • Strong knowledge of general employment law and HR best practice.

These positions are located in Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney, and applicants must be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is provided to successful candidates where ASIO requires relocation.
