Job Title: Guardian/Welfare Worker

At Aged Care Resumes, we are seeking an experienced Guardian/Welfare Worker to join our team for a 3-month contract in a Sydney Government Sector.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled professional to deliver Guardianship services, achieving the best possible outcomes for people with disabilities, consistent with the Principles of the Guardianship Act and the Public Guardian's Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct visits to represented individuals, understanding their views, will, and preferences, and developing decision-making plans to resolve issues.
  2. Provide information to the public and respond to enquiries from professional staff, service providers, and customers.
  3. Make, implement, and monitor decisions within delegated authority to serve the interests of people under guardianship, adhering to legislation and procedural guidelines.
  4. Undertake individual case-related activities, developing knowledge of local services and key support infrastructure.
  5. Ensure guardianship matters are monitored, and appropriate actions are taken in line with individual guardianship orders, relevant policy, and standards.
  6. Exchange information with represented individuals, family, and stakeholders accurately and timely, complying with relevant legislation.
  7. Prepare well-reasoned reports for the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and attend hearings as required.

Experience in the disability, aged care, or mental health sector is advantageous.
