We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Youth Development Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and mentorship to young individuals, contributing to their personal and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with youth through mentorship and counseling, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for their growth.
  • Develop and implement engaging programs and activities that promote skill-building, leadership, and personal growth, aligning with the needs and interests of the youth.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance resources and support for youth, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their development.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of young individuals within the community, promoting their well-being and empowerment.
  • Provide educational resources and conduct training sessions on relevant topics, equipping youth with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.
  • Respond to crisis situations, offering immediate support and collaborating with appropriate authorities to ensure the well-being of the youth.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, assessments, and program outcomes, ensuring accountability and transparency.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to youth development, leveraging the strengths and expertise of each team member.
  • Manage potential behaviors of concern, providing a safe and supportive environment for the youth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with youth is preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with youth, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social services, ensuring access to relevant support and services for the youth.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in promoting positive youth development, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Australian driver's license is required, enabling travel to various locations and community settings.
