Job Summary:

Edmen Community Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Care Specialist to join our team. As a Residential Youth Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for at-risk youth in residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a Secure and Nurturing Environment: Foster a secure, nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of at-risk youth.
  • Empower Daily Living Skills: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Facilitate Transportation and Community Involvement: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities, promoting socialization and skill development.
  • Support Personal Growth and Development: Encourage skill development, socialization, and emotional regulation within the local community.
  • Manage Health Needs and Administer Medications: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting, ensuring the health and well-being of at-risk youth.
  • Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches, promoting emotional regulation and stability.
  • Participate in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care.

Requirements:

  • Certification and Qualifications: Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work, or similar.
  • Driving and Safety Requirements: Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher) and a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • First Aid and CPR Certification: Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
