Role Overview:

The Indigenous Onboarding Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new employees. This role involves coordinating onboarding activities, providing personalized support, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and executing onboarding programs, including orientation sessions, training, and the preparation of onboarding materials.
  • Provide tailored support to Indigenous new hires, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to successfully integrate into the organization.
  • Ensure new hires have access to relevant support resources, including cultural mentoring, community connections, and internal networks.
  • Collect feedback from new hires to assess the effectiveness of the onboarding process and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of onboarding activities and generate reports on onboarding progress and outcomes.
  • Work with HR, hiring managers, and other departments to ensure a cohesive onboarding experience for all new employees.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Indigenous Studies, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role, preferably in HR or onboarding, is an asset.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HR software or onboarding platforms is beneficial.

Working Conditions:

The role is based in an office environment with occasional site visits. Standard working hours are generally from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but flexibility may be required to accommodate onboarding schedules and activities.
