
Bushfire Mitigation Specialist

This role is a critical component of the district’s fire management strategy, supporting staff and volunteers in executing immediate tasks and responses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating mitigation strategies and education programs for brigades, managing the Fire Warden network, and implementing the Permit to Light System across the district. They will also contribute to planning, implementing, and evaluating district-wide and department-wide programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and execution of bushfire mitigation strategies and activities across the district, including risk assessments, prioritization, options assessment, and evaluation of residual risk.
- Manage and mentor Bushfire Mitigation Officers and First Nations Officers to ensure brigades and partners are supported in delivering bushfire mitigation activities.
- Provide support to Area Managers and Brigades with bushfire operations as required, and undertake duties as Chief Fire Warden in the absence of the Chief Fire Warden.
