The role of District Bushfire Mitigation Coordinator is a key position within the Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating district-wide bushfire mitigation strategies and education programs, working closely with stakeholders to build robust bushfire mitigation networks in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate district-wide bushfire mitigation strategies and education programs, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and communities.
- Work closely with the Assistant Chief Officer, Area Managers, and Brigades to develop and implement bushfire mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including rural and remote communities, to promote bushfire awareness and prevention.
- Conduct risk assessments and prioritise bushfire mitigation activities to enhance preparedness, education, and engagement.
- Lead and manage a team of Bushfire Mitigation Officers and Bushfire Mitigation Officers First Nations to ensure brigades and partners are supported in the delivery of bushfire mitigation activities.
Requirements:
- A proven track record in bushfire management and prevention, with experience in coordinating district-wide initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on achieving desired outcomes.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
