Lead Bushfire Mitigation Specialist We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our bushfire mitigation efforts in the Northern Region.
This role will involve coordinating mitigation strategies and education programs for rural fire brigades, aligning with statewide frameworks.
- Manage the Fire Warden network across the district.
- Implement and operationalise the Permit to Light System.
- Contribute to planning, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide and department-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with Area, District, and Regional stakeholders to build robust bushfire mitigation networks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Coordinating education programs for rural fire brigades.
- Managing the Fire Warden network.
- Implementing and operationalising the Permit to Light System.
Ideal candidate will have experience in bushfire management, leadership skills, and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, Strong knowledge of rural fire management practices and procedures.
