Deputy Head of Secondary

The Deputy Head of Secondary plays a pivotal role in guiding the day-to-day operations of the school. Working closely with the Head of Secondary, this leader fosters a culture that inspires staff and students to learn, lead, and serve.

This position combines strategic oversight with genuine care, supporting teachers in their professional practice, overseeing curriculum delivery, and leading a robust pastoral program that encourages students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

With responsibility for student wellbeing, behaviour, and co-curricular opportunities, the Deputy Head of Secondary champions a holistic approach to education that equips young people to serve with purpose beyond themselves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Secondary to guide daily life in the school and support teacher practice, curriculum delivery, and pastoral programs.
  • Combine strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in leadership, teaching, and student wellbeing, with responsibility for a holistic educational approach that engages students academically, socially, and personally.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Be a thoughtful Christian leader with a heart for discipleship and formation.
  • Bring proven leadership experience within a Secondary setting.
  • Be highly collaborative, organised, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the relevant authority.
  • Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
  • Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College's programs and opportunities.
