Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Food Microbiologist and Academic Leader to join our department. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity to contribute to teaching and research efforts in food microbiology and safety.

About The Role:

  • This senior academic position involves leading high-impact research projects aligned with the University's research priorities in food technology and nutrition.
  • You will contribute to the teaching and delivery of courses in food microbiology and safety at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Your responsibilities include attracting external research funding, publishing high-quality outputs, and providing mentorship to emerging researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver large foundational and advanced courses in food microbiology and safety.
  • Manage academic programs or portfolios within the food science and microbiology discipline.
  • Support student learning and wellbeing, especially in laboratory-based and applied science contexts.
  • Lead and manage academic teaching teams, fostering a collegial and supportive environment.
  • Supervise higher degree by research candidates and develop research capability among less experienced academics.
  • Lead and manage complex research projects with reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

Mandatory: PhD in a relevant field.
