Job Title:

Compassionate Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide support and assistance to individuals who require assistance with their daily living activities.

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Help clients with mobility by transferring them from their bed to a wheelchair or vice versa
  • Administer medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social events, and other activities
  • Report any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate 3 In Aged care or Individual support
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role preferred
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient personality

Working Conditions:

  • Support Workers may work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences
  • The work may involve standing or walking for extended periods, and may require lifting or moving clients
  • Support Workers may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of their clients
