Heavy Equipment Operator

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products at our sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and Unloading: You will operate heavy equipment such as reach stackers, trucks, forklifts, and front-end loaders to load and unload products safely and efficiently.
  • Equipment Operation: You will adhere to company policies and procedures during equipment operation, ensuring compliance with safety, fatigue, and heavy equipment guidelines.
  • Customer Service: You will provide outstanding customer service and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • General Terminal Duties: You will perform general terminal duties and basic data entry as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: You will conduct equipment inspections and pre-start checks in line with Aurizon policies.
  • Bulk Dangerous Goods Handling: You will handle bulk dangerous goods in accordance with safety protocols.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High-risk heavy forklift ticket
  • An MC license
  • A Reach Stacker ticket (mandatory)
  • A Front-end loader ticket
  • A Dangerous goods license
  • Knowledge of terminal operations and workplace health and safety regulations
  • Strong skills in routine terminal operations
  • Experience in a heavy operation
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building effective relationships
