About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill. As a key player in our culinary success, you will assist our chefs in preparing and cooking meals across various outlets, from breakfast to dinner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring high-quality standards are met
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain rigorous stock rotation
  • Ensure all food is stored and managed to the highest health and hygiene standards
  • Efficiently manage your section and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to achieve culinary excellence

Requirements

  • Trade qualifications in Cookery
  • Previous experience in the hotel industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety requirements
  • Service-oriented with an eye for detail
  • Time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
