We are focused on driving positive change through a strengths-based approach to business ownership, economic participation and community employment.

As an Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the economic well-being and overall quality of life for Indigenous communities.

This position involves coordinating First Nation Businesses, establishing localised networks of Aboriginal businesses and supporting Aboriginal businesses by working collaboratively across community, industry and the private sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Indigenous business owners to enhance their operations, from legal compliance to marketing, improving their competitive advantage leading to enhanced economic outcomes.
  • Establish relationships with communities, relevant organisations and other key stakeholders.
  • Assist development of local Aboriginal businesses to capitalise on identified opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal individuals and communities to enable and support self-determination.
  • Experience in development and delivery of solutions in the areas of small business, procurement, employment and/or community development.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across multiple organisations.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to be flexible, develop contingencies and multi-task.
