We are seeking a motivated and experienced GPH-qualified Deckhand to join our team at Darwin Harbour Cruises. This is a casual position, commencing ASAP.

As a Deckhand, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Master and crew to prepare the vessel for cruises, managing berthing, controlling mooring lines, and performing deck rounds while addressing engineering and maintenance needs.

You will deliver high-quality customer service and ensure guest safety by assisting with mobility, following safety procedures from the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS), and conducting lookout duties.

Additional responsibilities include performing daily cleaning and housekeeping, assisting with food and beverage service, and managing guest requests by communicating specific needs with the office team.

We require a dedicated individual who can demonstrate strong customer service skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A well-presented appearance and basic computer literacy is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Master and crew to prepare the vessel for cruises.
  • Manage berthing, control mooring lines, and perform deck rounds.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure guest safety.
  • Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping, assist with food and beverage service.
  • Manage guest requests and communicate specific needs with the office team.
Requirements:
  • Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Certificate of Competency - General Purpose Hand (GPH).
  • Coxswain/Master/MED/Radio Operator skills.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol.
  • Food Safety Handling certificate.
  • Provide First Aid & CPR.
