Empathetic Child Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Support Specialist to join our team at Lifestyle Solutions, where you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in out-of-home care.
About the RoleThis is a part-time position that involves providing tailored support to children and young people, helping them to overcome trauma and build resilience. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to fulfill their potential and achieve their goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Meeting the daily care needs of children and young people, such as personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and personalized environment for all children and young people.
- Documenting events and developments related to the provision of care.
- Ensuring NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people while in our care.
- Utilizing trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
- Providing positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience escalation and crisis.
- Encouraging social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
- Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
We are looking for individuals who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experience in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs is essential. You should be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting, with a deep commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children and young people.
You will need to have a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver's license, and suitable minimum qualification or lived experience. Availability to suit a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights is also required.
What We OfferWe offer competitive hourly rates based on the SCHADS Award 2.1 – 2.2, salary packaging with $15,900 general and $2,650 entertainment benefits, paid face-to-face and online training, dynamic clinical and practice support teams, 24/7 crisis and incident response support, free confidential counseling support, monthly supervision, reflective practice, and teamwork planning.
