Child Welfare Specialist

Challenge Community Services is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, and supporting potential foster carers through the authorization process.
This role involves:
- Conducting regular reviews to ensure Challenge remains compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the NSW Carers Register.
- Servicing clients with empathy and understanding while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Delivering Shared Lives training programs to support the development of foster carers.
- Assessing placement options for children and young people in care.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Support potential foster carers through the authorization process.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess and analyze information to make recommendations for strengthening foster carer capabilities.
We are looking for someone who possesses:
- Qualifications in Community Services or a related field, or relevant experience and knowledge in the OOHC sector.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive assessment reports with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum.
