**Job Opportunity:** Climate Change Specialist

The role of the Climate Change Specialist will be crucial in collaborating with stakeholders and the Australian Government to co-develop and deliver a project focused on enhancing risk awareness and decision-making.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage research projects, including preparing project plans, scheduling meetings, and coordinating with relevant parties.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement with external partners, including confirming activities, facilitating workshops, and delivering outputs.
  • Liaise with climate scientists in the National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Climate Systems Hub to provide curated climate information via factsheets, reports, and presentations.
  • Deliver complex reporting and strategic communications from project findings.

**Requirements:

  • Experience in knowledge brokering, including engaging with external stakeholders, working with scientists or technical experts, and sharing information effectively.
  • A deep understanding of climate change science, decision-making, and adaptation action.
  • An awareness of government governance, policy-making, and decision-making.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, including developing relationships, effective communication, and identifying networks.
  • Experience in managing projects, including planning, timeline management, delivery of milestones, contract initiation, and budget preparation.
