Supporting individuals with disabilities requires a high level of skill and dedication.

Job Role Overview

This position involves working closely with clients to increase their independence and choice through capacity building, skill acquisition, and supported decision-making.

Key responsibilities include assisting clients to participate in community-based activities, establishing meaningful relationships with clients and their families, and planning and reviewing goals and plans to promote positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will also be required to provide personal care, such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and food preparation, as well as provide activities like craft, cooking, outings, exercise, and more.

In addition, the Disability Support Worker will need to have satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills, the ability to use basic technology, and general computer skills or the willingness to acquire those skills.

This role may require travel to various work locations and the use of a personal vehicle to transport clients.

Key Requirements
  • A passion for supporting people with a disability to achieve their full potential.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with honesty and integrity.
  • Satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills.
  • General computer skills or the willingness to acquire them.
  • A reasonable degree of physical fitness.
  • Possession of a current driver's licence.
  • Valid NDISWC number.
