Position Overview

As a Full-time Chef at Australian Food and Beverage T/A Cjs Crab Shack and Grill, you will play a pivotal role in our kitchen, collaborating with a talented team of chefs to deliver unforgettable dining experiences. From menu planning to execution, you will showcase your expertise in culinary arts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Culinary Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, ensuring creativity and guest satisfaction.
  • Kitchen Operations: Monitor food inventory and maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
  • Staff Development: Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Quality Control: Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations.
  • Menu Innovation: Plan the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Kitchen Leadership: Oversee all kitchen operations.
  • Staff Coordination: Coordinate kitchen staff, and assist them as required.
  • Training and Development: Train staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Inventory Management: Take stock of ingredients and equipment, and place orders to replenish stock.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Culinary Creativity: Create new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Industry Trends: Keep up to date with industry trends.
  • Continuous Improvement: Receive feedback and make improvements where necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a reputable hotel or restaurant.
  • Culinary Education: Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
