\Correctional Counsellor Role\

As a correctional counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare and rehabilitation of offenders. Your primary responsibility will be to provide assessment, counselling, and welfare services to individuals, with the ultimate goal of reducing recidivism rates and promoting community safety.

\Key Responsibilities:\

  • Administer assessments to offenders, analyse results, and maintain accurate records.\
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary offender rehabilitation research, practices, legislation, policy, and procedures.\
  • Participate in regular professional supervision activities and team meetings.\
  • Provide consultancy services to other unit members, including psychologists, education officers, activities officers, and custodial correctional officers.\
  • Develop, implement, and deliver assessment, counselling, and welfare services that cater to the diverse needs of offenders.\
  • Contribute to case planning and management activities, including report preparation and case notes.\
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records for relevant authorities.\
  • Provide expert advice on classification and planning review processes.\
  • Maintain personal and organisational security, confidentiality, and integrity at all times.\
  • Ensure IOMS records are accurate and current.\
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.\\/ul>\Requirements:\

    • Hold relevant qualifications in psychology, social work, or a related field.\
    • Possess experience in offender rehabilitation and correctional services.\
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
    • Be able to maintain professional relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.\
    • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\\/ul>\
