At ResMed, the Global Supplier Alliance (GSA) is a critical procurement function that collaborates with top-tier suppliers to deliver a diverse range of products and services. The position of Chief Procurement Officer - Indirect Sourcing plays a pivotal role in leading the GSA In-Direct Team, comprising Category Management of IT, Business Services, REFS, Travel & Fleet – with an annual spend of approximately $600M.

A key member of the GSA Leadership team, reporting directly to the Global Head of GSA, this individual will be responsible for building organisational capability and functional excellence to support growth and serve as a business partner to senior internal stakeholders and leaders across the organisation, understanding their requirements and developing category strategies that align operational targets with ResMed's long-term strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and line management to the In-Direct team, including continuous development of team capability to meet growing business expectations.
  • Makes significant contributions to the wider Procurement strategic agenda as a member of the Global GSA Leadership Team.
  • Leads and manages Indirect category teams, developing category strategies, operating procedures, and ways of working.
  • Engages with and actively drives Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) programs across Indirect Categories.
  • Contributes to developing policy and ensuring compliance is maintained to high standards.
  • Establishes supplier segmentation, SRM strategies, and develops buying channels.
  • Supports category teams in key negotiations, supplier relationships, analysis of spend management, implementing sourcing programs, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Engages with Senior Leadership teams at ResMed to continuously identify opportunities to optimise value procured from third parties, influencing business P&L positively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Track record of successfully leading teams of experienced Procurement professionals across Indirect categories with savings outcomes to the P&L.
  • Established track record of experience in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management.
  • Global experience in implementing effective category management strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills in working with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent business acumen, communication, and presentation skills, able to convey strategies and results to a diverse audience.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, influence, and co-create strategy and business outcomes with stakeholders.
  • Key experience required in managing global vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and supporting business objectives while minimising risk.
  • Experience in developing an end-to-end procurement process and change management.

The estimated salary for this position is in the range of $180,000 - $250,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
