Job Description:

The role of Program Manager, Policy requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health contexts and a commitment to cultural safety. This senior leadership position oversees strategic policy projects, fosters collaboration across teams, and ensures alignment with the Institute's 2024–2027 Strategic Plan.

This role involves shaping policy contexts, translating research into practice, and strengthening the Institute's influence through innovative and impactful work.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in two or more of the following areas: policy development, research and evaluation, or project management. They must also have a clear understanding of jurisdictional policy cycles, production, impact, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic policy initiatives that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing
  • Foster collaboration across teams to ensure alignment with the Institute's Strategic Plan
  • Translate research into practice and strengthen the Institute's influence through innovative and impactful work
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Experience in policy development, research and evaluation, or project management
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse personnel
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills
