Estimating Director Role

As a key member of our team, the Estimating Director will lead the end-to-end estimation process for construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project goals.

  • Develop detailed cost estimates from conceptual estimating through to first principles covering materials, labour, equipment, and overheads using industry-standard tools and first principles pricing.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing and scope data.
  • Lead internal and external estimate assurance reviews, due diligence, and maintain compliance with internal standards and procedures.
  • Interpret complex project documentation, quantify from design information, and structure estimates, bills of quantities, and materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior estimators, fostering capability development within the team.

Key Responsibilities

The Estimating Director will be responsible for:

  • Leading the estimation team to deliver high-quality estimates on time and within budget;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and suppliers;
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures and making recommendations for improvements;
  • Providing training and development opportunities for junior estimators;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
