Eligibility Case Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Eligibility Officer to join our team at EML. As an Eligibility Officer, you will play a critical role in the claims process, working closely with our clients and stakeholders to ensure that claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Take calls from the work queue and manage enquiries accordingly
- Request information required to assist in the liability assessment process
- Proactively manage claim determinations for complex claims, ensuring clear documentation of actions throughout the determination process
- Ensure that allocated work is actioned within appropriate timeframes
- Provide accurate and complete information that is consistent and easy to understand (including options about any claim, entitlements, obligations & responsibilities)
- Avoidance of speaking in jargon or acronyms that would cause confusion
- Liaise effectively with third party stakeholders, i.e. solicitors, IMEs and investigators
- Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to identify, develop and implement effective strategies to support the achievement of key performance and remuneration measures
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- High level problem solving and sound decision making
- The ability to effectively negotiate and influence
- Tertiary studies in business, law or allied health is advantageous
- Previous experience in a similar role within worker's compensation or insurance and/or professional services or previous experience within a legal environment would also be advantageous
