Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliation Analyst to join our payroll team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of payroll processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing garnishments, handling uncashed payroll checks, and performing monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Garnishment Processing & Compliance: Manage court-ordered wage garnishments (e.g., child support, tax levies); ensure accurate, timely deductions and remittance to agencies; respond to inquiries from employees, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Uncashed Payroll Checks Management: Track and reconcile uncashed checks; ensure escheatment compliance; communicate with employees to resolve unclaimed payroll funds; coordinate with finance and state agencies for reporting and remittance.
  • Monthly Payroll Tax Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll tax accounts monthly for accurate reporting; resolve discrepancies between payroll records and tax filings; support quarterly/annual filings (941, W-2, state reports).
Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of work experience in multi-state payroll and tax compliance
  • Experience with ADP Smart Compliance is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading a team
