Role Overview

This dynamic role is at the forefront of creating a positive workplace culture, driving employee engagement and development.

As a key member of our organisational team, you will be responsible for providing expert employee relations support, coaching managers in performance management and ensuring compliance with HR policies.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee enquiries, concerns and grievances, resolving workplace conflicts and disciplinary matters with confidence.
  • Develop and implement training programs on goal setting, performance reviews and performance management processes for managers.
  • Assist in managing the performance development process, ensuring timely completion of quarterly and annual reviews in partnership with the People & Culture Business Partner.
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes and ensure necessary updates are implemented across the organisation.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding activities by participating in selection processes and coordinating comprehensive new starter inductions.
  • Support and drive key HR initiatives and programs, including employee engagement surveys, talent management, diversity and inclusion projects, and sustainability efforts.
  • Manage and maintain accurate HR data and records in the HR Information System (HRIS), preparing regular reports and ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Oversee Work Health and Safety (WHS) responsibilities, ensuring all legal obligations are met, WHS policies are current, training requirements are fulfilled, and the organisation is prepared for audits.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a People and Culture or HR advisory role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Admin, or similar.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a proactive and approachable style.
  • Solid knowledge of HR and WHS legislation, with a focus on compliance.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment law and WHS legislation.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
  • High level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts and manage complex employee matters.
  • Experience supporting blue-collar workers and understanding their workplace needs.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
