Aboriginal Specialist Role

This is a specialist position focused on supporting Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander individuals affected by sexual assault and domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the work of sexual assault and domestic violence prevention and response for Aboriginal people in the region.
  • Develop culturally sensitive support programs and services tailored to the needs of Aboriginal people who have experienced trauma.
  • Collaborate with non-Aboriginal clinicians to enhance their understanding of cultural safety and responsiveness.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with teams to improve culturally sensitive service delivery.
Requirements
  • A recognized qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or Psychology.
  • Experience in working with community or trauma-informed services is advantageous.
