Therapeutic Specialist

Meaningful Impact for Families

We are seeking a seasoned Therapeutic Specialist to champion lasting change and help families reconnect through culturally responsive care.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our Integrated Family Services Reunification program on a 12-month contract. You'll be instrumental in guiding a passionate and collaborative team, elevating child-centric approaches, and amplifying children's voices in how reunification unfolds.

This role offers more than traditional case work. You'll lead through mentoring, shape service delivery frameworks, and walk alongside families navigating complex challenges. With your expertise in child protection and culturally empowered practice, you will help drive innovation following a major program review, supporting new and holistic approaches to healing and growth.

  • Culturally Responsive Service Delivery: Ensure inclusive service delivery, with a focus on First Nations and CALD families.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Apply strengths-based interventions to promote child safety, wellbeing, and reconnection with family.
  • Collaborative Relationships: Build strong relationships across services and facilitate effective collaborations to wrap care around families.
  • Case Management: Create and oversee practical, goal-oriented case plans and assessments that support long-term reunification.

What You Need

To thrive in this role, you'll have:

  • Relevant Qualifications: A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood, or related Social Sciences, or extensive equivalent experience.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of South Australian child protection legislation, including the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle.
  • Case Management Capability: Proven capability in case management, including collaborative assessment, planning, and documentation.
