We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Midwife Unit Manager to lead our Women's Outpatient Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing/midwifery care to women and their babies in this dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, management, communication, and clinical skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. They will also possess excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to prioritize workload and meet set timelines while working under minimal supervision.

**About the Role**

  • Provide expert nursing/midwifery care to women and their babies in the Women's Outpatient Department.
  • Support the Shared Maternity Care program, working closely with Shared Maternity Care Affiliates (SMCA) and General Practitioners (GPs) to ensure smooth program management.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with SMCA regarding patient results, suitability for Shared Care, and any updates on care needs.

**Key Selection Criteria**

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
