We are seeking a highly qualified Casual Medical Practitioner/Consultant to join our team at the Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN) in Adelaide CBD.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading healthcare provider in South Australia, offering specialist care for women, babies, children, and young people. As a Casual Medical Practitioner/Consultant, you will provide high-quality community-based forensic medical services using evidence-based practice.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide medicolegal examinations for women and men who have experienced sexual assault.
  • Document and report cases for use within the legal system.
  • Offer expert testimony regarding sexual assault issues and injury causation in court.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
  • Experience in acute medical assessment, preferably in an Emergency Department or other acute medical setting.
  • Knowledge of contemporary practice, issues, and research in sexual assault medicine and interpersonal violence.
