Land and Property Manager Position

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the Sydney Ring project, leading land and property activities to ensure the delivery of this complex project.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic direction and management of non-network property and facilities
  • Management of network property and easements, land information systems, policies, and standards
  • Environmental management and approvals

The Land and Property Manager is required to have strong leadership skills, with responsibility for technical and strategic management of teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to strategies and plans regarding land access coordination, including field teams and safety requirements
  2. Coordinate land acquisition activities and documentation, including liaison with teams and stakeholders
  3. Lead land and property planning access and acquisition responsibilities from concept stage to development, approval, and compliance activities
  4. Manage government and agency consultation and relationships
  5. Ensure land access is available to the project team by due dates
  6. Project management of assigned deliverables: schedule, financial, resourcing, risk
  7. Prepare and deliver project-level and executive-level reports
  8. People management of direct reports, contractors, and consultants
  9. Provide clear strategies, plans, and coordination of land access requirements to the project team
  10. Provide strong leadership to land access coordinators to establish good relationships with stakeholders and effectively coordinate land access activities
  11. Responsibility for obtaining site-specific information for stakeholder/farm management plans and access protocols
  12. Manage adherence to site-specific requirements
  13. Ensure safety induction requirements are complied with by field teams
  14. Accurate record keeping and reporting on land access activities
  15. Contribute to provision of technical instructions, training, development, and mentoring of team members regarding relevant property issues
  16. Land acquisition coordination and negotiations across entities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in a property-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Solid demonstrated relevant professional land and property-related experience
  • Significant experience in land access negotiations and compulsory acquisition
  • Strong understanding and experience with legislation, regulatory frameworks, and procedures
